The Government meteorolofllst issued the following weather report and forecast tsst night: — General situation: The situation remains unchanged. Pressure is still very low east of New Zeala'nd, while over the western Tasman it is high. Forecast: Winds south-westerly to southerly, moderate to strong gener- \ ally and in places still reaching gale force, but moderating somewhat. Weather: Mainly fair in western districts, elsewhere still unsettled with showers at times, more especially on the east coast and in'the far nortb. Temperatures cold with many frosts and on the ranges, snow and showers. Following are ihe barometsrr maxlmum and minimum thermometer, sunshine, and rainfall rea'dings recorded at the Government Observation Sta> tion by the Rotorua Tourist Department for the 24 hours ended at 9.30 a.m. yesterday. Barometer 29.479ins. Thermometer (max.) 54.2deg. Thermometer (min.) 37.6deg. Thermometer (min, on grass) 27.7deg. Rainfall Nil Bright Sunshine 6.4hrs.
