MEN REFUSE WORK

SHIP HELD UP IN AUCKLAND . Auckland, Thursday. The crew of the steamer Wingatui, which was timed to sail at 11 tonight for Portland and Wellington, refused to sail, stating that a meeting of the- seamen's union would be held in the morning to discuss the dispute.

The crew remained on board and ths departure of the vessel is delayed indefinitely. The only Union company steamer in port is the Gabriella, due to sail for Westport at noon to-morrow.
