"DOMINION STATUS"

PROTESTS AGAINST MEAT CONCESSIONS TO ARGENTINE (iRec. May 4.) London, May 3. Although traders helieve that the Argentine Agreement will not affect trade much, Australian and New Zealand meat circles are disappointed that the Government is committed for three years not to reduce Argentine imports of chilled beef by more tban 10 per cent., especially in view of Britain's declaration at Ottawa tbat she desired to raise prices to a remunerative basis. "The worst bargain of all" is the Daily Express' front page headline of the Argentine Agreement. It says: "The fact that the Dominions must share with' the Argentine any reduction in imports is equivalent to granting the Argentine Dominion status."
