USE OF CHEWING-GUM

Sometimes a lealc may develop in the fuel line, radiator, or a hose connectioh, and the driver of the car i& often at a loss to know how to effect >a repair, since the tools and sp'ares carried in the car rarely ever provide for such contingencies. Ch'ewing-gum is a very useful thing to have in the car, not only for .stopping leaks, but also for keeping back seat drivers quiet. In a recent race at Brooklands track a car developed a leak in the radip-tor, and an amusing sight was witnessesd when the driver, mechanic, and pit staff were all seen busily chewing gum in order to eff ect a repair.
