POLICE SEARCH FOR ESCAPEES FROM GISBORNE

Gisborne, Monday. The search for the escaped prisoners Alfred O'Meara, aged 36, and Wilken Rainsdon Avery, aged 25, eontinues. Members of the police force from Gisborne and the Bay of Plenty have converged on the densely bush-clad Motu Ranges. The prineipal hope of recapture lies in the fact that it will be almost imipossible for the prisoners to secure food supplies. It is allege4 that they are fortified against cold hy blankets ' taken from roadmen's huts.
