MAJESTIC THEATRE

TO-NIGHT. The British picture version of a play which has stood th'e test of time and which ds as popular to-day as when first produeed, opens to-night at the Ma.jestic Theatre. This is the famous C. Watson Mill drama, "The Face at the Windaw," in which the celebrated French bank robber, "The Wolf," is defeated in his classic battle of wits with Paul Le Gros, the famoug Parisian detective. •Raymond Massey, one of the best , known stars and producers on the I London stage, plays the role of Le 1 Gros, and, although carrying the bulk of the drama upon his capable shoulders, he hag been given the support of an exceedingly strong cast, composed, in the main, of London stage names — for there are :at least five in "The Face at the Window" who have their name in lights when playing in a London theatre. The film holds the secret of the ■I identity of "The Wolf" until the very last foot, the audienee knowing no more than the detective and groping along the various theories with him. This is perhaps the most successful manner of handling a mystery play, and for that reason alone we do not propose to divulge the story. In the second feature Spencer Tracy and Joan Bennett appear in "Me and My Gal," a speedy comedy melodrama of New York life. How a bright young detective chases :a.nd captures a murderer and his gang and, at the same time, pursues a pretty girl and finally wins her are revealed in thig film. Romance and exciting adrenture are skilfully blended with hilarious comedy in a picture that lacks nothing for perfect entertainment.
