KILLED BY CAR
CYCLIST VICTIM OF 18 YEAR OLD DRIVER Christchurch, Thursday. The verdict that death was due to injuries received when he was knocked off his bicycle by a motor car on Ferry Road on March 11, was returned by the coroner at the conclusion of the inquest into the death of Frank Leslie Walmer Moran. It appeared, from evidence, that Moran was riding on the proper side of the road, but near the tram line, when the bicycle was struclc by a car coming from behind him. The driver of the car, a youth of 18, was dealt with in the Children's Court on a charge of driving in a manner dangerous to the public. He was ordered to surrender his license and was prohibited from driving for two years, and was ordered to pay the cost of the prosecution.
