After the election of officers the chair was occupied by the new president, Mr. W. Winslade. The annual report stated inter alia: — "Your committee is p'leased to report that its second year proved very successful, both1 financially and socially, when one considers • the diffbult time 5 the Dominion is passing throuigh and we commence our new year with : a balance of £17 2s. A total of 123 financial members (ladies and gentlemen) were enrolled, and a good averI age number of members attended each shoot. "Your committee wishes to point out that it regrets members did not support the two socials, held during the past year; the first proved a, financial success, but the second the club had to pay £1 5s 5d. It is hoped that any social arranged during the coming year, members will make every endeavour to make it a financial success. During the year we held our first annual ball, which socially provr ed a great success, whilst financially the receipts balanced expenditure. "During the year six matches were fired, with results as follows: Postal match against Hamilton won by 32; against Broadlands, .lost by 2; against Whangarei, lost by 79 ; a.gainst Whangarei, lost by 112; against combined clubs, placed fourth; against Hamilton, won by 43. "Keen interest was taken in the above matches, and th'e selection committee's task of selectingl teamis was not an easy one. Wet fully expect to put up .a much better record this year. "The past year was the first that aperture sights and slings were allowed iand members allowed to use any .22 rifle non-repeating. During the year several members purchased their own rifles, and the regulation five bull target wias used. The rifles loaned to the club were not very igood, the majorty of which were badly worn. For the coming year 10 rifles will be available to members five of which have new barrels. "Your committee are partieularly pleased wtih the manner in which the public of Rotorua, kindly donated such igood trophies and donations, and we wish to place on record our sincere appreciation to the donors ,who watch the progreis of the club with great interest.
