WELLINGTON Wellington, Tuesday. The customary Anzac Day service was held to-day, cold southerly wea-

ther interfering with a full attendance. A parade-of returned soldiers, volunteers and frontiersmen marched behind the Port Nicliolson and Pipe bands to the citizens war memorial, Lambton Quay, where wreaths were placed. Many naval cadets, scouts and guides were also present. ' , In the afternoon, the weather improved and the ex-service men assem- ' bled at the Basin Reserve where a memorial service was conducted and requiem piayed on the Carillion, the units afterwards marehing through the streets to the citizens' memorial. The next-of-kin service was held in the Town Hall.
