PERSIAN DEADLOCK
SATISFACTORILY SETTLED BY AGREEMENT WITH SHAH Rec. April 23, 7 p.m. London, April 23. The Daily Herald's special corres1 pondent says that the Shah of Persia and Sir John Cadman (chairman of the Anglo-Persian Oil Company), ; have initialled a preliminary agree- ' ment at Teheran, ending the Anglo- | Persian oil dispute. | Persia will receive 21 per cent. instead of 16 per cent. of the AngloPersian Company's production, besides a small percentage of the profits of subsidiary companies. The renewal of the D'Arcy concessions for 60 years is assured, also the right to exploit the vast untouched oil fields in the northern provinces of Persia.
