Bowling Postponed Heavy rain on Saturday afternoon caused a pOstponement of the final of the Rotorua Bowling Club's championship pairs, and also the continuation of the handicap pairs matches. Despite the heavy showers, however, several enthusiasts braved the elements and continued their games. Anzac Day To-morrow To-morrow, Anzac Day, the "Morning Post" will not be published, but the office will be open for the receipt of advertisements, etc., from 7 p.m. as usual. During the morning the usual commemoration eeremony, attended hy representatives of military and other organisations in the town, will take place at the cenotaph in the Government Grounds, the speaker being the Rev. J. C. Young, B.A. The service will be conducted by Archdeacon Chatterton. The parade will assemble at the railway station at 10.15 a.m. and march to the cenotaph. If the weather is unfavourable, the service will be held in the Majestic Theatre. All Stage Managed However much we may strdve to please, it is an unfortunate fact that there are always thoise ready to impute the unworthy motive. In the fond belief that they are doing something to improve the sanitary conditions- of the natives, the city fathers of Rotorua have proceeded with a sewerage scheme at Whakarewarewa. But th'ey also must join the ranks of those who are "not undenstood." A lady visitor from overseas after watching the pipe-laying activdties at present in progvess at the pa, very definitely expressed the opinion that this merely confirmed her opdnion that Rotorua's thermal activity was entirely stage managed for visitors and that these were merely new and more up-to-date means of hoodwinking the tourist. After this it is h'ardly rem-arkable that even geysers become annoyed and refuse to play any more. Glow-worms at Okataina The bush drive from Lake Okataina to the main road is not easy to : negotiate in the dark and as a result very few visitors have ever passed over it without, at the very least, headlights on their cars. Unfortunately these same headlights obscure what is undoubtedly one of the most interesting- speetacles in the neighbourhood — the myriads of giowworms which glint and sparkle along every cutting and through the drooping fronds of native greenery which overhang the road. In some cuttings where the top soil is exposed, there are literally banks of the tiny ereatures, their scintillating jewels of light glistening out of the darkness in luminous clusters. Scbool Committee Election At the Rotorua Primary Sehool tonight the annual meeting of- householders will be held to elect a school committee for the ensuing twelve months. -One more nomination than the required number of committeemen has been received, those nominated being as follows: — C. A. Clarke, H. Wilkinson, M. B. Hunt, N. M. Keane, L. Ewert, A. T. Butt, W. J. Kurney, H. C. Smith (re-nominated) , H. G. Staple and R. R. Griffiths. In addition to the election of a committee, several important remits and matters affecting the school are to be discussed. It is hoped that a large attendance will be present to enable the incoming committee to receive direction on these questions. Rugby Followers Dilemas Followers of Rugby in Rotorua will experience eyestrain hefore the season closes unless some radical alteration in teams' colours is made. The green and white hoops of one team (Utahina) approximate very closely to the blue and white hoops of Kahukura and the yellow and black hOops of Waikite are lilcely to be confused with the maroon and yellow hoops of Awahou. It will be quite bad enough for the average spectator, but the lot of the referees is going to be a most unenviable one.
