April 21, 9.25 p.m. Apia, April 21. , Visits to schools and colleges occupied a considerable part of the day, among those called upon being Ifiifi for white children and Nalifa f'or natives. At the f ormer, the National Anthem was played by the school band ,and at the latter the massed scholars sang the Anthem with wonderful effect, a really inspiring rendering. Lord Bledisloe addressed the child- • ren and displayed special interest in the model exhibition of S'amoan hand'worlc. He planted a teak tree at Ifiifi in commemoration of his visit. - During the afternoon, their Exce'llencies visited the Wesleyan College at Falenla and the London Missionary Society College at Malua, displaying keen interest in both these remarkable institutions, which exercise sound i.ifluence on the Samoan village life. There was a dramatic incident when their Excellencies were motoring toward Fasipoo village, which they were specially invited to visit. The Mau supporters were assemhled at a nearby village, and when the Vice-Regal car approached there was a large number of men on the road, necessitating the adoption of a very slow.'pace... The men moved to one side and slowly filed past, some saluting their Excellencies in a friendly fashion. There was not the slightest disturbance, but obviously the incident was planndd. A cordial reception was accorded at Fasipoo, where the kava ceremony was performed. The visitors were entertained by a merry crowd of Samoan dancers and singers. Their Excellencies are the guests of the Administrator and Mrs. Hart 'during the Samoan visit. To-night Lord Bledisloe attended a Masonic function.
