Christchurch, Friday. Mr.' J. R. McKenzie, th'e well-known business man and trotting horse owner, had a narrow escape at the Middleton railway 'cirossing last night when the back of his motor car was ■struck by a train and considerably. damaged. Mr. McKenzie received only slight injuries. It is stated that trees ohscured the view at the crossing.
