GIRLS' DAY

1 TO-DAY'S SPORTS MEETING AT ROTORUA HIGH SCHOOL KEEN CONTESTS LIKELY ^ This afternoon what is probably the most looked for event of schoo'i 'life will be commenced at the Rotorua High School when the annual sports day for girls will be held. It is on occasions , such as these that pupils enjoy to the full the advantages of school attendance and usually much enthusiasm and rivalry is displayed between pupils of the various • houses of the school. With the promise of ideal weather 'for to-day's sports, a fast track and an interesting programme of events, the competitors and spectators will be provided with plenty to interest 'them throughout the afternoon and the event should prove second to none in the history of the school. In addition to the usual championship events for girls, novelty races are also provided, and as usual past pupils. of the school, both boys and •girls, will also be catered for in the programme. Certain heats of events to bo decided at the boys' sports on Wednesday will also be run off. At a nominal charge the old girls of the school will ' as usual provide a dainty afternoon tea for the many parents and friends who. will no doubt attend in large numbers and willingly support this means of assisting the f unds of the Old Pupils' Association. The first event on to-day's programme. will commence at 2 o'clock.
