HARRIMAN INDICTED FOR MAKING FALSE ENTRIES

New York, April 6. Joseph Harriman, the former head of the Harriman National Bank and Trust Company, was indicted on Thursday by the federal grand jury on charges of making and causing to be made fourteen false entries on the books of the bank. Harriman was previously arrested on a Federal warrant, charging him with similar offences. The bank did not open after the bank holiday, being placed in the hands of a conservator. Harriman's bank closed with others, when the recent bank holiday was proclaimed in the United States. When licenses to resume were issued, Harriman's was omitted, it being announced that proceedings were to be instituted against Harriman for wrongful practiees.
