BAND CONTEST

FIRST SOUTH AUCKLAND FIXTURE AT HAMILTON DURING EASTER ' The first band contest of the South Auckland district will be held on Eas'ter Saturday and Monday, ahd arrangements have now been completed which should ensure the- complete success of the fixture which will talce plaee at Hamilton. In all twelve bands of a total 'strength of 300 players from throughout the district will compete ahd among these will be the Rotorua Municipal Band. The competitions wili include qnicksteps, selections, solos 'and quartettes in addition to massed band items. With the co-operation of the Railway Department the committee have 'been sucCessful in securing the issue of special excursion fares to Hamilton and from Rotorua these will operate on trains arriving in Hamilton not later than 3.4 p.m. on April 15.
