GIRLS' SPORTS
. ANNUAL ROTORUA HIGH SCHOOL FIXTURE ON SATURDAY INTERESTING PROGRAMME On Saturday afternoon, the annual athletic sports for girls of the (Rotorua Hi'gh School will be held on the High School grounds and in keeping with previous years it is expected that the large attendance of parents and friends will be present. In conformity with the practice adopted in other secondary schools of the district, both the boys land girls sports are this year being held during the firist term and not during the last term of th'e school year as on former occasions. Saturday's programme, which will commence at 2 o'clock will include track, hurdling and jumping events cand great speculation is already being shown by the_ pupils in the possible outcome of the aggregate points to be awarded for eaeh championship event to the four Houses of the school. ; In addition to the events for present pupils, the annual relay races between both the present pupils -and the Old -Boys and Girls of the school will be decided land several distance events including the senior and intermediate boys' mile run and 880yds junior championship will also/'take place. Past pupils of the school will also "be further catered for iby 'handicap events and also the old boys' ch'ampionship1. ^ ■ ,For the convenience of. parents and fpiends the Old Girls of the school will again conduct the tearooms-in- as^--
sistance of the Old Pupil's Association's funds, a nominal charge being made for lafternoon tea. With good weather the fixture will undoubtedly prove one of the nrost .enjoyable functions of the ischool year and a fine preliminary to the main meeting to be held on' Wfednesday next. ' - •
