ALL ROUND ADVANCE AT WANGANUI WOOL | SALE ! I KEEN COMPETITION
— By Telegrapli — Copyright) .
! Wanganui, Wednesday. At the final Wanganui wool sale of the current season to-night, values opened firm on Wellington, and showed an appreciable advance on i those ruling at the Wanganui sale of February. The full bench of buyers evidently I appreciated that there would be only ! one more Dominion sale this .season at Napier, and competed keenly for their requirements. Compared with February, fine cross breds, 46-48, were up halfpenny, inferior by halfpenny, moderate cross breds, 44-46, average and inferior by one farthing to one halfpenny. Coarse cross breds 40-44, by one farthing to; one halfpenny. Low cross breds 36-40, par. Hogget wool caused competition and lots of good quality appreciated one halfpenny to one penny. Bradford secured the hulk of coarser sorts of fleece wool, finer types going to the Continent. Japan also I competed for better class fleece | wool. France was strongly in the mar- | ket for bellies and pieces and for j good quality lambs. Australian. mills j also secured a proportion of lambs ] wool and several nice lines were taken by Bradford. | Ninety per cent of the total offer- | ing was sold. It was refreshing to j see competition among buyers at rulI ing values, and the present indicatj ions are that the Napier sale, which I will offer a quantity of clean Hawkes ! Bay wool should be a record for the | Dominion this year.
