BRITISH INDUSTRIES FAIR
INGENIOUS IDEAS REVEALED. A legion of men who knew what women wanted (and a sprinkling of women) exerted their ingenuity to provide novelties for the British Industries Fair which was held in London and Birmingham from Fehruary 20 to March 3. 'There was a multitude of new ideas revealed — includimg lahour-saving devices, novelties in jewellery, perfumes and furniture. One which the load'ed woman shopper relished was a handhag with a broad handle that opened with a patent sliding fastener to reveal small change or a train ticket. Other ideas from a new plug for baths to a semi-circular shaped piano which eliminated the projecting angle of the "baby" grand type, thus saving space were displayed. A.mong the inachinery exhibits at the Birmingham section were many new ideas in wash-ing-machines.
