CHAMBER OF COMMERCE AND RETAIL TRADERS MEET A meeting of the Rotorua Chamber of Commerce and Retail Traders' Association was' held at the Dolly Varden on Friday, March 31. Mr. W. R. Harris, presided over a large attendance of members. The secretary was instrueted to write to the Main Highways Board urging the necessity of improving the dangerous state of the corners on the Rotoma Hill on the Rotorua-Gisborne main route. Mr. O. H. Coleman gave a very interesting address, submitting a scheme for the relief of unemployment. After a lengthy discussion it was decided that the matter be referred to the executive for further investigation. It was decided to keep in touch with any action taken by the Transport Board with the object of protecting the interests of business . people. The resignation of Mr. W. M. Ashton was accepted with regret.
