Pageant Wins From Brentlight There should have been 'another inquiry after the Goldfields Handicap Tcr Prnce Pedro was patently dealt with when making his run and it is incomprehensiblie that such a glaring case was lallowed to pass. This scrt of thing shakes -anyone'® confidence in the cleanness of trotting if :t is allowed to go scotfree. Great Delight was the early leader from Carlui, Prinoe Pedro, Kewpie's Triumph, Brentlight and Pageant wh'o did not qet the gaat at the start. Carnui went :o the front in a slow run mile from Prince Pedro, Great Delight (falling :ack), Kewpie's Triumph, Pageant md Brentlight. Half a mile from home Kewpie's Triumph and Prince Pedro were making a move when iG'ee wagged his whip as Prince Pedro was passing Carnui and broke him up. Ppgeant lasted best to win with Brentlight next and Kewpie's Triumph ahead of Carnui. The race looked very peculiar as Prince Pedro looked to be doing it easily the best before he was broken up. Times: 2.44 2-5, 2.44 3 5, 2.46, 2.45. Brent Zolock's Reversal of Form For the third time in succession, Brent Zolock tripped backers by a reversal of form. On Thursday he never went kindly and appeared well beaten a quarter of a mile from home, but to-day he hopped out like a shot from a gun and though he had to be kept at it to beat Pageant he won the last race and paid the best divvi'3 of the meeting. Brent Zolock, Carnui, Great Parrish, Auto Machine, Pageant, Brentlight, Direct Morning, and Kewpie's Triumph was the early order and when they came to the home stretch, Brent Zolock, Brentlight and Pageant were together from Great Parrish, Carnui havinig broken and interfered with Kewpie's Triumph. Under the bat all three raced to the post and Brent Zolock just maintained his advantage from Pageant with Brentlight third and Direct Morning coming very fast fourth, followed by Kewpie's' Triumph, Great Parrish, Auto Machine and Carnui.
