USELESS ACQUITTAL
MAN SENTENCED TO GAOL ON SECOND TRIAL Bathurst (N.B.), March 31 Joseph Norman Pitre, the first man in the history of British jurisprudence to face a second murder trial after once being acquitted, w?is sentenced to five years' imprisonment on Eriday following his conviction for murdering George Smith, a storekeeper, His brother Wallace received the same sentence for.robbery with violence in connection with the same case.
