VALUES REMAIN STEADY FOR BEEF AT WESTFIELD

Auckland, Wednesday. The New Zealand Loan and Meroantile Agency Company reports: — There wds a large penning of beef to-day at Westfield. A good demand was experienced for ox heef and values were steady. For cows and hCifers, of which; there was' a heavy yiaxding, values were easier. Prices ranged as under. — Extra he'avy ehoiee ox, 19s per 1001b; choiee prime, 16s to 18s; isecondary, 13s to 15s; prime eow and h'eifex*, 15s to 17s; secondary, 11s to 14s. Extra heavy steers made from £7 to £7 15s; heavy, £6 to £6 17& 6d; lighter, £5 to £5 17s 6d; light, £4 td £4 17s 6d; small, £2 5s to £3 17s 6d; extra heavy cows land heifers, £4 5s to £4 17s*6d; heavy, £3 10s to £4 2s 6d; lighter, £2 l7ls'6d to £3 7s 6d; light, £2 to £2 15s; others, £1 to £1 17s 6d,
