LADIES' GUILD
SUCCESSFUL FUNCTION. Following on the Harvest Thanksgiving Festival on Sunday, a most successful fair was held in St. John's Hall on Monday evening under the auspiees of the Presbyterian Ladies' Guild. The various stalls were as follows: Produce, Mrs. Purcell, Mrs. Wrigley; flowers, Mrs. Bullin, Mrs. Redward; cakes, Mrs. E. T. Johnson, Mrs. Shiels, Mrs. J. MeDowell; sweets, Mrs. Locke, Mrs. Sherman, Misses W. Locke and A. Woollianrs; needlework, Mrs. W. Jon-e-s, Mrs. Angus; supper, Mrs. Landsay, Mrs. Mitchell, Mrs. -W:. A. McLean, Mrs. Kincaid and Miss M, Lindsay. A nuniber of interesting comp'etitions contributed to the pleasure of the evening. The winners were: — Wool-winding for men, Mr. E. Robertson; best wound ball, Mr. Locke; naildriving for ladies, Mrs. Corbett; men, Mr. E. Robertson; beans in bottle, Mr. Grant harpooning the whal'je, Miss H. Harrison; men, Mr. Young; cake donated by Miss Carrington, Mrs. E. John-son and Mrs. Galbraith; cake donated by Mr. T. Johnson, Mrs. J. 'competitions were run by members of the Senior Bible Classes. Musical items were rendexied as follows: — Violin solos, Miss G. Cameron-John-son; songs, Mrs. Spens Black and Miss J. Worrall.
