The Govarnment meteorolofllst ig> sued the following weather report and forecast last nijht: — ( General situation: The recent depression has disappeared, but a slight secondary one has Been crossing southern New Zealand today; an anticyclone is now adva'ncing over the Tasman Sea, whije pressure is still falling in south-eastern Australia. Forecast: Winds moderate to strong but decreasing south-westerly to westerly, veering again shortiy to northerly in and south of Cook Strait. Weather: Some scattered showers in districts with a westerly aspect, but weather mai'nly fine; temperatures cool, but gradually becoming warmer. Following are the barometer,- maxlmum and minimum thermometer, sunshine, and rainfall readings recorded at the Government Observation Station by the Rotorua Tourist Department for the 24 hours ended at 9.30 a.m. yesterday. Barometer 29.883ins. Thermometer (max.) 70.0deg. Thermometer (min.) 57.5deg. Thermometer (min. on grass) 55.8deg. Rainfall 2.21ins. Bright Sunshine nil
