LATE MARKET RATES ARE MAINTAINED AT WHAKATANE Messrs Dalgety and Co., Ltd., report having held their usual monthly stock sale at Whakatane on Thursday, March 9, when a full yarding of sheep and a moderate yardinjg of cattle were submitted at auction. Values compared favourable with late market rates iand practically the whole yarding changed hands-. We quote: Heavy fat cows £2 4s to £2 16s; lighter 35s to £2 2s; store cows 24s to 34s; boner cows 12s 6d to 25s; potter bulls £2 5s to £3 5s-. Sheep: Medium fat maiden ewes and wethers to 11s 7d; 4 and 6 tooth store wethers 9s 6d; small 4 and. 6 tooth' wethers 7s 2d; small 2 and 4 tooth wethers 6s 6d; 2-tooth ewes 11s ld;' small 2-tooth ewes 7s 7d; best 5 and 6-yeiar ewes 8s 9d to 9s 3d for draft from Mr. W. C. Roberts, Whakatane; mixed ages to failing mouthed ewes 2s lOd to- 5s 6d; good store lambs 5s 6d to 6s; smaller to 4s 3-d.
