London, March 9. The cabled news that the Australian Cabinet is reconisidering the X'estriction of butter export ia. having an immediate satisfactory effecti on the market. Earlier in the week, news of the . decision not to restrict, caused prices vto slump. New Zealand choicest fell ye&terday to 70® to 72s, Australian to -69s to 71s, the lowest ever touched-. To-day's news 'brought buyer:s to the market and there were considerable | purchases, largely speculative in the anticipation that quota.s will he agreed to. This raised New Zealand to 74s to I 75s, Australian 72s to 73s. Several of the largest importers are of the I opinion that if Australia iand New j Zealand agree to the restrictions, prices will recover considerably, but there rnust also be restriction on foreign exports.
