W. WHAREAITU WINS TITLE

Te Pu'ke, last night. A very suecessful swimpxing. ,parnival was held here tp-nigbt by tlxe Te Puke Amateur Swimming - Glub when, attracted by an excellent programme, a partieularly large attendance was present. In addition to a large entry of lbcai. swimmers, additional interest was created by the appearancq of tbe New Zealand 50yds record holder, W. Whareaitu (Rotorua) and also inexhbers of the Ohinemutu Club. On his appearance for the 100yds Bay of Plenty championship, Whareaitu' Was given a rousing ovation and won the title in the tirne of 60secs, 'JI. Maxxahi (Ohinemutu) being second- The Ohinemutu team were also successfixi in wxnning the Bay of Plenty relay championship and the dual relay event, while R.
