KNIFE THROWN

ALLEGED ASSAULT ON WHARF FOREMAN AT LYTTELTON Christchurch S?iturday. Harry Huston, alias Jack Holman, a railway worker, was charged in the Police Court at Lyttelton to-day with unlawfully assaulting William Or-chai-d Chesterman. Sergeant Leckie said that Chesterman was foreman at Lyttelton, and part of his duty was the putting on of labour to work vessels, Yesterday when Chesterman finisheil putting on labour, accused appeared and was annoyed at not having been included with the men engaged. While at dinnex*, it was alleged, accused threw a large knife which caught Chesterman in the elbow. Accused was remanded to appear in Christchurch on Monday.
