BLENHEIM MURDERER TO BE HANGED ON MONDAY

Wellington, Wednesday. The sentence of death on Edward Tarrant is to be carried out at the Wellington Prison, Mt. Crawford, t>n Monday morning .at 8 c'clock. ■. On receipt late yesterday afternoon of the warrant advising that- the Covernor-General would not interfere with the sentence of the Court the Sheriff at Wellington, Mr. W. Samson, accompanied by the Deputy-Sheriff, Mr. E. G. Rhodes, left for the prison, and informed Tarrant of the Executive Council's decision. "Tarrant took it well," said Mr. Samson, who had a most unpleasant [ duty to perform. "All he said was, 'Thank you, sir.' "
