MAG1STRATE FINES MEN FOR ASSAULTING WORKER Dunedin, Wednesday. Declaring that individuals who set out to act as bullies and bruisers must be checked, Mr. J. B. Bartholomew, S.M., in the Police Court yesterday sentenced Henry Josepli Montgomery and Thomas John Henry Foote to one month's imprisonment for assault on two "free labour" workers at the Burnside freezing works. In view of his previous good charaeter an exception was made in a similar case against a well-known boxer, John Montgomery'Richmond, who was fined £5, in default 14 days' imprisonment. The three accused pleaded not guilty.
