FINE WOOLS
GROWING POPULARITY. All things considered, Hawke's Bay growers of fine wools had reason to be satisfied with the prices paid at the Napier wool s-ale, but coarse long crossbred wools met a somewhat sticky market, remarks the Napier Telegraph. The trend towards finer wools has been most apparent for the last three seasons on the New Zeaiand market and it i® clear that future breeding in Hawke's Bay will he direeted towards breeding a fleece of finer type. The comparative ahsence of passings was a pleasing feature of the early portion of the sale and the tone of the nxarket, on the finer types of A-ools, if not wildly enthusiastic, was at least moderiately steady. Apparently buyers are working to more definite orders at the present time, judging by some of the comments made, which, in itself, is an encouraging feature. ' 1
