BUTTER SUPPLIES
TEN PER CENT. RESTRICTION Hamilton, Thursday. The basis of New Zealand's restrictions of butter shipments to the United Kingdom was revealed by Mr. Dynes Fulton, chairman of directors of the New Zealand Cooperative Dairy Company, to-day. Mr. Fulton said the Government was prepared' to restrict shipments to England by 10 per cent for three months, provided Australia and Continental countries did likewise. He made it clear that there would be no restrictions placed on output but merely on shipments. The stocks of southern hemisphere butter held in London amounted' to only three weeks' supply, which was not excessive when the huge increase in consumption in the United Kingdom was taken into consideration.
