Sydney, February 22. Australia's chances of winning the fifth test, which some critica consider negligible, received a hard blow when it was announced tliaT the fast bowler Wall will he unable to play owing to a hadly-hruised heel. His place will be taken by the Vietorian speed merchant Alexander. The latter has eaptured twenty-five wickets in Sheffield Shield matches this season, at an average of 21 runs. Allen, of the visiting team, is also on the injured list with a strained left side. The Englishmen re-united at Sydney yesterday. They are anxious to win the last* test thus drawing level i with Australia in the total number of tests won. fifth test to-day i The fifth test match between Eng- j land and Australia will be commenced I at Sydney to-day and played to a j finish. England has won three of the four ! tests player and thus has regained the "Ashes" which Australia won in England in 1930. The Australian team for the fifth test will be. — W. M% Woodfull, V. Y.
