The Govsrnment meteorolofilst issued the following weather report and forecast S*st niffht: — General situation: A cyclone from the Tasman Sea has nioved toward the vicinity of New Zealand. It is being folIowed by a westerly depression. Forecast: Winds westerly or southwesterly prevailing in all western districts and the far south, elsewhere northeriy -at first, later backing to westerly, moderate to strong i'n force. Weather: Unsettled in districts with a westerly espect and in the far south with further rain, elsewhere scattered showers but later improving; temperatures cooler. I Following are the barometer rnaxlmum and minimum thermorneter, sunshine, and rainfall readings recorded at the Government Observation Sta* tion by the Rotorua Tourist Department for the 24 hours_jended at 9.30 a.m. yesterday. r Barometer .... .... 29.932ins.
