The Govprnment meteoroToqlst issued the following weather report arid forecast 5»st night: — General situation: ♦ A slight anticydlone is centred north of East Cape, while a moderate westerly depression is crossing the souther'n Tasman Sea. Forecast: Winds moderate to strong and increasing northeriy to northwesteriy, backinp iater to westerly or south-westeriy in the western and southern portions of the South Isiarid. Weather: Cloudy to overca'st fairly generaliy, otherwise mainjy fair in eastern districts, but rain deveioping in high levels of western districts and the far south; temperatures mild. Following aro the barometer,, maxlmum and minimum thermomeier, sunshine, and rainfall readings recorded at the Government Observation Station by the Rotorua* Tourist Department for the 24 hours jended at 9,30 a.m. yesterday. Barometer 29.855ins. Thermometer (max.) .... 73.6deg. Thermometer (min.) 61.0dog. Thermometer (min. on grass) 52.3deg. Rainfall 0.08ins. Bright Sunshine 2.2hrs.
