FISHERMAN SUFFERS BADLY CRUSHED RIBS IN BC)AT
(From
Whilst fishing from a launch outside the Whakatane heads on Tuesday, Mr. Murphy, senior, met with a very painful aceident. It appears that Mr. Murphy was standing with one foot on the edge of a box in the coekpit, when .a wave larger than usual, struclc the boat and caused him to slip. Unfortunately, Mr. Murphy, who has only one arm, fell on his unprotected side athw&rt the side of the boat. His whole weight was thus thrown on to his ribs and chest. As a result he is now in the Whakatane H'ospital suffering from severely crushed ribs.
