TRAINER CLAIMS N.Z. HORSE WAS DOPED

Rec. Feb. 13, 11.30 p.m. Melbourise, February 13. George Jones, the trainer of the New Zealand colt, Staghorn, caused a sensation in racing circles to-day, by expressing his belief that Staghorn had been doped prior to his race in the Electric Handicap at Williamstown races on Saturday. The usually docile Staghorn behaved badly at the post and ran much below his form. He became extremely excited after the race and was almost terror-stricken. Inquiries have heen set afoot.
