BOWLING TOURNEY

THREE ROUNDS PLAYED DESPITE FREQUENT RAIN YESTERDAY'S RESULTS The Rotorua Bowling Club's annual open tournament was continued yesterday, play being advaneed by a further three rounds in all sections. Warm, sunny weather prevailed during the morning, but in the afternoon conditions became showery, a heavy fall of rain late in the afternoon making the greens again heavy and playing conditions difficult. On account 'of interruptions, a number of games did not finish until nearly dusk. Probably the most interesting game of the day was that between "Walker (Auckland) and Robertson (Onehunga) both of which teams had not suffered a defeat. For the first half of the game, Robertson drew steadily ahead of the 1931 winner and was six up on the twelfth head. At the seventeenth, Walker had overhauled his opponent, but Robertson again drew ahead wfch a two on the. next head. Killmg several heads in succession by accurate driving, Walker scored three on the twentieth and won the match two up. Rotorua teams fared badly during . the day's play, only Butt holding his position at the head "of section D in company with McPhail (Auckland).
