Re6. Feb.- 7, 10.15 p.m. Sydney, February 7. When driving a tractor across the Western railway line near Bathhurst, a local farmer experienced a brealcdown, but was unable to shift'the tractor off the level crossing. Realising that a goods train was approaching, he ran along the line and signalled frantically for the engine crew to stop, but the train sped on and crashed into 'the tractor. The train was derailed and all later traffic was dislocated for some hours, hut nobody was hurt.
