-By Telegraph — Ccpyrlghti.
Auckland, Monday. "I do not thinlc we would mind if we did not see a tennis raelcet again for six months," said Mr. W. Allison, captain of the United States tennis team when it arrived in Auckland from Sydney by the Aorangi to play two matches in New Zealand. While they pay a tribute to Australian hospitality, members of the team are unanimous in stating that the tour, from a playing point of view, was far too strenuous. "In spite of the fact that we all f eel in need of a rest from the game, we are glad to be playing in New Zealand," said Mr. Allison. "I hope our play in Wellington and Auckland comes up to expectatioxx, and that some useful purpose xnay be served by our short visit." The American team left for Wellington to-night, to play a test match there against New Zealand on Wednesday. They will return to Auckland to play a second test match on Saturday, leaving for San Francisco on Tuesday. 'Others players in addition to Allison, are Vines, van Ryxx and Gledhill.
