ELECTRICITY FAILS
Owing to some trouble on the Public Works Department service line near Edgecombe, the Rotorua and Bay of Plenty electric supply was disorganised last night. After a couple of brief stoppages the current completely failed in Rotorua between 3.30' and 4.35, when it became possible to switch over to the engine plant. The current for the Bay is supplied from Arapuni through Ngongotaha sub-station 'and the breakage at Edgecombe therefore affected the Rotorua current. Heavy wind with, rain canie on ahout midnight and it is supposed that the storm 'has been responsible for the interruption of the lines.
