rowing OPOTIKI v. WHAKATANE Four crews from Whakatane visited Opotiki on Monday for inter club races and for the King's Picture Cup, held by Opotiki. The crews got away well, Opotiki soon gaining a lead of half a length which at the halfway post they had increased to one and a half lengths. Whakatane spurted to reduee the lead to half a length again, but' Opotiki went away strongly towards the finish to win the race and retain the cup by just over a length and a half.
