With the prospects of capatalising their University training and degrees rapidly diminishing, University gir] graduates and undergraduates are confronted with a 'grave problem. The coiiiparatively small numher oi women who win their way through the six years' medical course; spendihg something like £2000 in the process, usually discover after 12 months' hospital work (opportunities permitting)''that Cupid holds th'e key t6 tKe way out. Fdw of them ever practise shriously. On the other hand, hundreds of girls who have taken degrees in arts and science, many graduating with honours, have even less ehance of employment. The few girls who have studied P'harmacy and architecture, have found it very profitable, compared with those who aimed at the teaching profession, and those who have takeri' economics dfegre'e course 'will doubtless find it a fairly wide field in the big city stores. In the meantime, there is no falling off in the numbers of girls that flock' to the University each year. ;
