The Government mGieorolojilst issued the following weather report and forecast last night:— Genera! Situation: An anti-cyclone now covers New Zealand, while a moderate depresslon is located over i the western Tasman Sea. . Forecast: Winds light to moderate, northerly predominatmg and shortly freshening in the south. Weather: Fair to fine at first warm, but clouds increasing in western districts and rain deveioping to-morrow in the western and southern portions of the South Island. Following are the barometer,, maxlmum and minimum thiermometer, sunshine, and rainfall readings recorded at the Government Observation Sta* tion by the Rotorua Tourist Department for the 24 hours ended at 9.30 a.m. yesterday. Barometer .... 30.074ins. Thermometer (max.) 73.7deg. Thermometer (mi'n.) 55.0deg. Thermometer (min. on grass) 49.0deg. Rainfall Nil Bright Sunshine 10.4hrs.
