The Auckland Show executive have met this de.mand by providing on .their -schedule a special award known as the Dor piinion Dairy Championship, as a recognition of the importance of the daiiry industry, and hlave foHowed this hy special classes of th.e two outstanding adjunets — pdgs and fat lambs. To foeus attention' on the importance of the pig industry, prizemoney and trophies have been awarded in the porkj class on a scale that has never been attempted and is easily a New Zealand record. This class will provide the greatest New Zealand pork display ever made on the London market. Every dairy farm must provide its quota of fat lambs, so a special district lamb competition has been provided at the Auckland show. It is confidently expected that with the definite co-operation of all concerned with the prosperity of the country, it will not he long before the Auckland province will be renowned not only for its dairy produce, but for its pork, bacon and lambs.
