SHIPBUILDING
BRITISH YARDS BUSY AFTER MONTHS OF STAGNATION STEEL OWNERS CO-OPERATE Rec. Jan. 27, 11 p.m. London, January 27. Shipbuilding is enjoying one of the best filips for seve.ral years. Orders have been placed since November for 58 vessels of all types, while the Admiralty will place contracts in Mareh for the vessels authorised under the 1932 programme. This improvement, following 10 months of almost complete stagnation, is attributed partly to the cooperation of the steel makers, who are supplying materials at rates enabling the shipbuilders to tender at tempting prices.
