The Govprnlnent meteorolofilst issued the following weather report and forecast last night:— General Situation: An anticyclonic. depression is covering the interior of Australia with a moderate anticyclone from the Tasman Sea to New Zealand. Forecast: Winds fresh east to north in the Far North. Elsewhere light to moderate and variable with southerlies prevailing. Weather: For the 'most part fine with warm days, but moderate night temperatures, Scattered showers are likely, however, in the north of Auckland and between Hawkes Bay and the East Cape, but mainly in the hills. I Following are the barometer, maxlmur/i and minimum thermometer, sunshine, and rainfall readings recorded at the Government Observation Station by the Rotorua Tourist Department for the 24 hours ended at 9.30 a.m. yesterday.
