-By Telegraph — Copyrlght).
Rec. Jan. 17, 7.0 p.m. Dublin, January 17. Mr. W. T. Cosgrave, speaking at Cavan, said that the de Valeraites had promised reductions of £2,000,000 in taxation, but instead had increased taxation by £4,000,000. While in July they had voted £2,000,000 to prosecute the economic war, they had voted no taxation to meet the charges. Moreover they had spent £1,000,000 to provide work for the unemployed. Whatever Government was returned to power, it would find that the Free State had begun 1933 with £3,~ 000,000 dehts and with the country losing £1,000,000 a month in exports.
