CAUSTIC CRITICISM
(Press. Assn.-
PRAISE FOR LARWOOD
— By Telegraph — Copyrlght).
Rec. Jan. 15, 11.40 p.m. London, January 15. Mr. CarduS, in the Observer, lamenting the mediocity of the batsmen said, "I am not a lover of the leg theory, but cannot withhold my admiration for Larwood's power to transform the lazy turf into a field of tribulation for Woqdfull and Bradman. "Australia must be bad if worse than England, as it is suggested that the Englishmen are the worst fieldsmen ever seen in cricket in Australia. I suppose it will be admitted that Australians are the worst batting side which .ever' wore pads in a test, but their absenee of masters is producing rare fun.'?
